Just walk down the path, you will find a ray of light is approaching you while you are walking towards your destination…This ray of light symbolizes the recognition a product gets after being successfully launched in the market and the destination is getting established as a market leader and maintain a huge market share for a prolonged period of time.. So the most critical phase in a product life cycle is launching the product successfully… You and your company are preparing for that big day when your company’s latest product will be launched to a very important audience comprising your customers, distributors, dealers, bankers and suppliers!!

Here comes….LAUNCH PAD, giving you an opportunity to bring your new product into the market, to establish your brand’s presence and to showcase your innovation!!….

Instructions:

  • Through your presentation focus on the features/ benefits that your audience are interested into.
  • The presentation must tell how your product solves real problems/ creates new oppurtunities instead of how it works.
  • Make your product truly different and better.
  • Address the 4P’s of marketing required while launching the product.
  • Show a detailed analysis of the costs involved.
  • When new products or services are launched, companies tend to train trainers who train staff, who then train people in the distribution channels(distributors, wholesalers and retailers) who then promote the product to customers.
  • The result is a much faster with much better trained sales and technical support staff throughout the channels of distribution. This aspect can be mentioned taken while mentioning about the HR sector.

Description Product launch

  • The team has to launch a new product. The launch must cover all the aspects of a real life launch. Basically, sell your idea.

MODE OF PRESENTATION:PowerPoint Presentation

TIME ALLOTED:

Total of 15 minutes per team (10 min for the presentation & 5 min Q & A round)

Maximum no. of members: 3 (Three only)

The Product (only one) can be chosen from the following categories

1. Cosmetics
2. Accessories
3. Automobiles
4. Home Appliances and Home Care
5. Food and Beverages

Specific Rules of the Event:

1. The name of the product must be unique / innovative. Use of existing names will not be accepted. (E.g. If the category is ACCESSORIES - WATCHES, you cannot use the name “TITAN”)

2. The ad line/ Tag line must be not that of an existing product.

3. Compulsory inclusion of the following aspects in the presentation: 

  • Minimum two print ads of your product.

  • Minimum one hoarding ad of your product.

  • Financial aspect of the launch (Like Cost Sheet etc.).

  • Price of the product must be mentioned (TIP: Make sure the price is competitive.Thus, requires research and questions can be asked on this).

  • Marketing and promotional strategy.

  • Sales and distribution (TIP: Team can opt for an existing parent  company, E.g. If your product is a cosmetic - you can say that HUL is your parent company provided the product has a completely innovative name. This point is at the exclusive discretion of the team).

  • Include HR aspect also (if needed) depending on the product line (e.g. sales team etc.).

  • Creativity and communication and presentation skills.

  • Handling of Q and A round - Questions vary on topics from general awareness of competitors, industry of the product, data projected by the team, marketing, finance etc.

  • Adherence to the time allotted - sell your idea in the time given. Penalty for non-adherence.

4. Use of music / sound effects is optional. Minimal use is recommended.
